166 Spyder Corse/ 166 Mille Miglia. Introducted in 1948 w/1995cc V12. The corsa had cycle guardsand was used for sports car racing, although it was eligeble for Formula 2 events with the guards removed. About ten of these were built. Replaced with Spydersusing Superleggera bodies by Touring. Two groups 30 in the first run from 40-late 51 with touring bodies and second of about 12 cars in late52-33, were mostly spyders with Vignale bodies. Umong the total of 42 cars, 12 coupes were built.

During 48 no car could match the 166MM. The first road going version was the 166 Sport, although few were built. A sales brochure featured a line drawing of a notchback coupe with some provision for rear seat passengers. The power came from a SOHC V12 using single plugs with twin distributors. Triple Weber 32 DCF Carbs, five speed Gearboxes, front double wish bone suspension with transverse leaf, while the rear was a live axle sprung and located by leaf springs. Comp ratio of 7.5:1 gave 110bhp @ 6000rpm.
